I would like to raise attention to a burning issue for my country as well as the Western Balkans region-our accession to EU, speaking not as part of any political factor but as intellectual, researcher, practitioner, teacher, author, advisor, volunteer, mother. As we are relentlessly working towards better future for all, facing tremendous challenges (not understood or recognised by many external to our context), we need to aim towards our true North - the decent, win-win mentality, compromising, developed Europe. Believe us that we are not just negative reviews & fraudulent behaviour - on the contrary, we (students, professionals, citizens) are competent, honest, hard working and fighting-on-all-arenas people that add a lot of value to this world, every step of the way. Teaching my students of optimism & inner strength is futile in moments like this, when a sign of good will, not dangerous to anybody - but very important for us, should have been given, you forgot us, your neighbours, partners and collaborates. Complexity theory says there is no such thing as evolution = everything is co-evolution & co-creation. I feel obliged to write this post, to resonate a big, maybe irreparable mistake of not being given the helping hand, when in quick sand.
